Grainy security footage that has been hidden for months has exploded back onto the internet – and it’s blowing the lid off what really happened that fateful night at Misty Roberts’ sprawling suburban home.
The mum-of-two, 42, had always insisted the raucous pool party for her teenage son’s birthday was nothing more than “a bit of harmless fun” that got out of hand. But these chilling new clips – timestamped just before midnight – show a very different story.
In the footage, obtained exclusively by the Daily Mail, Misty can be seen slipping out of the glowing turquoise pool in a skimpy black bikini, water cascading down her curves. She’s not alone. A tall, muscular man in dark shorts emerges behind her. What happens next has left jaws on the floor.
The pair disappear behind a cluster of poolside loungers for several minutes. The camera catches them in a passionate embrace – his hands on her waist, her arms wrapped around his neck. They’re laughing, whispering, clearly far more than just “friends”.
Then, at 11:47pm, the 16-year-old friend of Misty’s son strolls into the exact same frame, towel slung over his shoulder, completely unaware of what he’s just walked past.
Seconds later the footage cuts. But those few explosive moments have turned everything on its head.
Police have now confirmed the identity of the mystery man – and it’s a name that has sent fresh shockwaves through the quiet cul-de-sac in [redacted suburban town].
The man caught on camera with Misty Roberts was none other than 48-year-old local businessman and father-of-three, David Hargrove – the very same man whose own teenage son was at the party that night.
Yes, you read that right. The “other man” police have identified is the dad of one of the boys invited to the birthday bash.
Neighbours who spoke to the Daily Mail say the revelation has left the entire street reeling.
“I always thought Misty was the perfect mum,” said one long-time resident who asked not to be named. “She’d organise barbecues, help with school runs, the lot. Now we find out she was canoodling with another kid’s father while our children were splashing around in her pool? It’s disgusting.”
The newly surfaced footage was captured on Misty’s own Ring doorbell camera overlooking the backyard. It had been deleted from her cloud account shortly after the party – or so she thought. But a tech-savvy guest who asked for a copy “just in case anything went missing” kept the original file.
That guest, who we are calling Sarah for legal reasons, told the Daily Mail: “I only kept it because my daughter was there and I’m paranoid about safety. I never dreamed it would show… this.”
When the clip resurfaced on a local Facebook group last week under the heading “Anyone recognise this pool party?”, it was shared thousands of times within hours. Comments ranged from “Misty who?!” to “Call social services NOW”.
Misty Roberts, a glamorous brunette who works part-time as a yoga instructor and part-time as a social media influencer with 28,000 followers, has so far refused to comment publicly. But friends close to the family say she is “devastated” and “in hiding” at an undisclosed location.
One close pal told us: “Misty has been through hell. Her marriage to Mark has been rocky for months. They were already sleeping in separate rooms. The party was supposed to be a distraction for her son Jake after he’d had a tough year at school. She never meant for any of this to happen.”
But police aren’t buying the “it was just a bit of fun” line.
Detective Inspector Laura Kensington, who led the initial investigation after complaints of underage drinking at the party, confirmed to the Daily Mail yesterday: “We have reviewed the footage. The man has been identified as David Hargrove. Both Mr Hargrove and Mrs Roberts have been interviewed under caution. At this stage no charges have been filed but the investigation remains open.”
The party itself has been the talk of the neighbourhood since it happened last August. What started as a simple 16th birthday celebration for Misty’s son Jake quickly spiralled into scenes more suited to a Ibiza nightclub.
Eyewitnesses describe:
- Empty vodka bottles floating in the pool
- Teenagers vaping and smoking behind the garden shed
- Loud music blaring until 2am
- At least three parents who dropped their kids off and then stayed for “a quick drink” that turned into an all-nighter
One mum whose daughter attended said: “I picked her up at 1am and the place was chaos. Misty was slurring her words, dancing on the patio table. I thought it was just mums letting their hair down. I had no idea there was anything going on with another dad.”
David Hargrove, a married property developer who drives a flashy black Range Rover and coaches the local under-17s football team, has also gone to ground. His wife Rebecca, 45, is said to be “furious and humiliated”.
A source close to the Hargrove family revealed: “Rebecca had no clue. She thought David was at a charity golf dinner that night. When she saw the footage she screamed so loud the neighbours called the police thinking someone was being murdered.”
The timing couldn’t be worse for Misty. Just three weeks before the party she had posted a gushing Instagram tribute to her “amazing husband Mark” on their 18th wedding anniversary. The post, which showed the couple on a beach at sunset, has now been deleted.
Mark Roberts, 44, a successful IT consultant, has reportedly moved out of the family home and is staying with his brother. He has not commented but friends say he is “blindsided”.
“He trusted Misty completely,” one pal said. “She always said the pool parties were innocent. Now he’s questioning everything – including whether anything else happened that night.”
The 16-year-old boy who appears in the footage at the exact moment the clinch ends has not been named for legal reasons. His parents are said to be “horrified” that their son may have witnessed something inappropriate.
A neighbour who lives opposite the Roberts’ £850,000 detached house told the Daily Mail: “The boy walked right past them. You can see on the video he does a double-take but then keeps walking. God knows what he saw or heard.”
Since the footage leaked, Misty’s Instagram account – @MistyMovesAndMimosas – has been bombarded with hateful messages. Some followers have called her “a homewrecker”, others “an embarrassment to mothers everywhere”.
Her follower count has dropped by over 4,000 in 48 hours.
Local mum-of-four Claire Thompson, 39, started a petition on Change.org titled “Protect Our Children From Inappropriate Adult Behaviour At Teen Parties”. It has already gathered 2,873 signatures.
“We all want our kids to have fun,” Claire said. “But when parents start behaving like horny teenagers themselves, lines get blurred. This footage proves it.”
Psychologist Dr Hannah Fielding appeared on Good Morning Britain yesterday to discuss the wider implications.
“What we’re seeing here is a classic case of parental boundary collapse,” she said. “Misty Roberts appears to have wanted to be the ‘cool mum’. Unfortunately that desire has backfired spectacularly. Teenagers need parents to be parents, not party pals.”
The Daily Mail has learned that social services have been contacted by at least two concerned parents. A spokesperson for the local council said: “We are aware of the situation and are making appropriate enquiries.”
Misty’s lawyer issued a brief statement last night: “My client is cooperating fully with police. She denies any wrongdoing and asks for privacy for her family at this difficult time.”
But privacy is the last thing Misty is getting.
The resurfaced footage has been viewed more than 1.2 million times on TikTok alone, with the hashtag #MistyRobertsPoolParty trending for three days straight. Edited versions with dramatic music and slow-motion replays of the embrace have racked up hundreds of thousands of likes.
One viral comment read: “She really thought deleting the footage would make it disappear? Welcome to 2026, Misty.”
Another user posted: “The fact the kid walks in right after… imagine the awkwardness at school on Monday.”
School? That’s another nightmare. Both Jake Roberts and the Hargrove boy attend the same local secondary school. Sources say the atmosphere in the sixth form is “toxic” with students taking sides.
One pupil told us via Snapchat: “Everyone’s calling Misty a MILF but in the worst way. The lads are making memes, the girls are saying she’s ruined two families.”
David Hargrove’s football coaching position is also under threat. The club’s chairman confirmed they are “reviewing the situation”.
Back in the cul-de-sac where the party took place, For Sale signs are already appearing. One neighbour admitted: “Property values could drop if this gets any bigger. Who wants to live next door to that drama?”
As the police investigation continues, questions remain:
- Did anything more than kissing happen behind those loungers?
- How many other parents knew what was going on?
- And why did Misty delete the footage if, as she claims, “nothing happened”?
The Daily Mail has contacted both Misty Roberts and David Hargrove for comment. Neither has responded.
But one thing is crystal clear: the wild pool party that was supposed to be forgotten has become the scandal that refuses to die.
And with every new share, every new comment, every new theory, the grainy backyard footage is ensuring that Misty Roberts’ night of “harmless fun” will haunt her – and two families – for years to come.
